Céramiques hispano-Moresques région de Paterna
Hispano-Moresque ceramics
Hispano-Moresque ceramics refer to ceramic pieces made in Andalusia or Valencia between the 8th and 15th centuries. They include objects of great diversity, from unsealed utilitarian productions to the very large vases of the Alhambra, decorated with metallic chandelier enhanced with cobalt blue. Some rooms are decorated with geometric patterns of Islamic inspiration, such as these spice pots of slender shape, called albarelles. Others, such as the elegant dish with oranges, use more figurative motifs. Still others, such as the dish of the Ricci family, present the coat of arms of the owners.
